The hold time for VacuFlush toilet systems is 2 to 3 hours. Afterwards it may cycle for 5 to 10 seconds then turn back off for another 2 to 3 hours. We recommend adding a kill switch to the system and turning it off when not in use.

VacuFlush systems that are cycling more frequently than 2 to 3 hours may be in need of service or repair. Often the culprit is a vacuum leak in the system. Items to inspect include hoses and clamps, toilet seals, the bellows and duckbill valves.

Ardemo carries a full inventory of original Dometic replacement parts. Click here to view our VacuFlush parts.

Spring is upon us and it’s time to start thinking
de-winterizing your rig and planning those summer trips.

Boats and RV’s are subject to a lot of winter wear and tear
especially when stored outside.From
water and snow damage to rodents enjoying a cozy winter nest, you never know
what may have wrecked havoc until you do some poking around.

Here’s your checklist of things to review before you head
out onto your next adventure!

Check your tires

This means not only checking the air pressure, but also
checking for cracks in the sidewalls. It’s also a good time to take a look at the tread wear.Uneven tread wear is often indicative of
another, potentially more serious issue.

Exterior Walk-Around

Look for signs of damage that may have occurred over the
winter months. Inspect the weatherstripping around windows and doors.Replace any sealant that looks like it’s
cracked or peeling.

If your RV was stored outdoors, take a look at the roof for
potential leaks and water damage.

Batteries & Generator

Make sure your batteries are charged.

Check the oil levels in your generator before starting it up
and check the exhaust system for any potential damage.

Follow manufacturer instructions and recommendations for
each.

Water System

Now’s the time to flush out the antifreeze that you put in
last Fall. It’s also a good time to
check for leaks.Follow your
manufacturer instructions here as well.

Propane Tanks

Make sure the tanks are securely fastened and that the hoses
are tightly fitted.Refill if necessary.

While you’re at it, make sure the propane appliances fire up
too.

Safety Devices

Just like at home, periodically inspect smoke, CO2 and LP

At Ardemco, we specialize in marine sanitation devices and systems, provided by the best manufacturers in the industry. Check out our full selection today.

Fortunately, today’s advanced marine sanitation devices require minimal maintenance, but if you want to keep your toilet functioning flawlessly for years to come, it’s still important to heed some basic maintenance essentials. Here are some very simple tips to get you started:

1) Use only materials rated for marine sanitation. Specifically, you want to find Coast Guard-certified toilets and parts, like those manufactured by Sealand/Dometic.
